.mac is an online storage and sync service offered by Apple. If you are an OS X user, .mac could be seen tightly integrated with the operating system. The service costs a slightly heap $99 annual fee. No more!.. with the DotMac opensource project, you can host your own .Mac service.

Currently DotMac supports:-

  • Data synchronization for any application that supports .mac (iCal, Address Book, notes, etc…)
  • iDisk/iDisk Sync
  • iWeb Publishing
  • Backup

This is a work in progress and expect to see a lot of improvements further.
