Reliance Developer Programme is having a contest to promote the development of useful mobile applications for the rural population. If you are a mobile application developer, it is now your chance to win up to Rs.13 Lacs in prize money.

The applications could be in any of the following areas:

Transportation
M- Commerce
Information
Health
Education
Governance
Location Based Services

This is really impressive and heartening to see. I have earlier covered some Microsoft India Mobile R&D initiatives to help improve the rural economy of India.

i think wimax or wibro would definately benefit the rural areas. Wibro has been proven in africa and i hope it would be the same in India.

Hi,
THIS IS NIKHIL
IN RURAL AREAS PEOPLE ARE COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF ANY USEFUL INFORMATION.
SO IN ORDER TO BRIDGE ITS GAP, PRIORITY MUST BE GIVEN IN WIDENING THE INFORMATION BY SOME INFORMATORY SOURCES.
EVEN THE GOVERNMENT MUST SUPPORT THE PEOPLE TO GET ATLEAST THE PRIMARY SCHOOL EDUCATION.
PEOPLE ARE UNEDUCATED IN THOSE AREAS SO THEY WONT BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITIES, SO MOBILE APPLICATION CAN BE USED TO ENHANCE THEIR CALIBER TO UNDERSTAND N THUS PROMOTE IN DEVELOPMENT OF THOSE AREAS WHICH ARE HAMPERING THE PROGRESS OF OUR DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY..

I THANK FOR GIVING ME AN OPPOURTUNITY TO EXPRESS MY VIEWS.
