I’ve got some Jaiku invites to give away

November 15, 2007 · 95 comments

You may have seen Jaiku – the nanoblogging platform which is somewhat similar to Twitter. The Twitter is very simplistic in what it does. But not so fun. It’s pretty bland to state ‘What you are doing?’ and archive it as a life stream of events. Jaiku takes off from there..

You can do all of your twittering things with Jaiku too. Plus, You have IRC style channels on various topics – you may even create one. All of my blog feeds can be aggregated over to my life stream. All Jaikus are now wrapped into a widget and is placed on to the sidebar of this blog. The SMS, eMail and IM notifications feature works pretty well. The lack of status feature is what I liked more about Jaiku – talk about some change in philosophy! ;). I prefer to use my Facebook status more – if at all. MobileJuhu is an interesting native Jaiku client for iPhone which I’m using.

Let me know if you want to join me on Jaiku  – in the comments section.

I would very much like a Jaiku invite as well, from what I have read, it offers a bit more than what Twitter does, so I’m keen to try it out.

Hi Vinod,

Thanks for the interesting post. I’ve been trying to learn more about this Jaiku site since I’ve been working on my own twitter/microblogging type site. Features are definetly good when it comes to these type of interactive websites. It makes them more ‘interactive’ and fun. I’ll send you another comment once my site is complete. You can be the first to give a public review of it if it’s worth it. :)

Please send me an Jaiku invite.

I’d like an invite too; I’ve been getting bored of twitter (it’s too bland) and Jaiku seems to have more features and potential to grow.

Dude, I would love to join you! I’ve been trying to get an invite forever. Plus I’ve been having trouble with juhu crashing on my iPhone. Hopefully, I can fix this problem and join a cool community that seems to be growing fast. Thanks in advance, Caliber Chross.

Vinod Ponmanadiyil January 21, 2008 at 1:25 am

@caliber: I am anxiously waiting for the next lot of Jaiku Invites to give away over here. Juhu did not crash on my 1.1.1/1.1.2 iPhone. Even though, that app is not seeing any further updates lately. I am Twittering these days and having the tweeds federated over at Jaiku.
