Were you able to solve the issue? I am having the same problem on my 3GS. Was working great on Airtel but just stopped working and now works on all 1800 band GSM carriers.

That’s so good. I’ve never seen anyone else getting an OFFICIAL UNLOCK from Airtel !.

Airtel has unlocked my Iphone 3G, following the end of the one year contract. free of charge!
they asked me to wait 20 days and at the end of the wait, confirmed to me the unlocked status.
Hurrah!

have been trying to send sms on my iphone ( airtel prepaid). The cust service guys say it can’t be done. Silly. My settings / general/ network does not have cellular data network etc., neither APN etc., Not even message center stting options.

any one can help ?

I have activated the 199 unlimited GPRS plan on BSNL for my iphone and need settings for the same to work. Could you please forward me the settings.

Exactly! Its quite silly that after paying Rs. 599 a month for data with Airtel there seems to be so much ordeal in trying to ascertain their settings. They really should walk you through it.
