If you are not familiar with it, the Clone Wars was an animated TV series that premiered on the Cartoon Network before the release of Episode III and after Episode II. It appeared in two chapters, the last chapter’s episode showed the kidnapping of the Chancellor and the beginning of Anakin and Obi Won’s ensuing chase, which is the event that occurred right before Episode III began. It covers the events that occurred between Episode II and III.
It was long rumored that Lucas wanted to create the series into a serial show. Seems that day is finally coming.See the Clone Wars trailer.
