Some more smart blogging Tips
This post is part of the series of posts , I am doing on Wordpress relevant services and plugins.
CoComments
Tracking all the comments that I leave on various blogs has always been an issue for me. If I opt-in for the email followup of the posts, I’ve got my Inbox cluttered pretty soon. CoComments is a neat solution which will track all of the comments you make in various blogs and aggregates them in a webpage for you.
CoComments is available as a FireFox-plugin ( a bookmarklet for IE Users) which works across majority of the blogging and forum platforms. If you specifically wants to enable your site with CoComments, you can install the CoComments Wordpress Plugin. You can even customize the CoComments to suit your blog style as well.
Your Comments are no Less than Your Posts - Make your ‘Comments Blog’
CoComment also offers some advanced tools in Technorati Integration. Most of us write some detailed and insightful comments (?!) on the blogs we like and discuss. Most of the these blogs will have “noFollow” enabled by default on the comments section to avoid spam and such like. That means the comments You and I make are never indexed by the search engine. Think about the information lost on the blogosphere!.
CoComments offers an awesome solution. Your aggregated comments page can be exposed to Technorati as a regular blog. This is your Comments Blog. A great supplementary to your regular blog. Plus, it is indexed by search engines , especially the Technorati Blog Search. This means, it doesn’t matter whether you comment or post, everything you create is searchable- globally.
AnswerTips
I don’t know if you have noticed a small icon I have at the footer of my blog!. My site is AnswerTips enabled. It means - wherever you double click on any word here, a balloon tip will popup showing the definition. I wish every site uses this feature. You can enable AnswerTips globally on your PC by using a Firefox Plugin or Windows Application.
Using Your IM Presence to Promote the Blog

I have a lot of friends in Google Talk, Yahoo, MSN Messenger etc. I keep my Blog URL as the Presence Status. I think its a very effective way of spreading your blog - slowly- but authoritatively.
Submit your Blog to the Answer.com Blog Directory
If Answer.com editors finds if your blog has valuable content to be included in their prestigious service, You may get listed there. This is something I would urge if you’ve got a Stumbled/Digged post with Unique , authority content. So go submit your blog to Answer.com now.

Hmmm. I wonder if url’s in the Google IM window in Gmail would work for PR or indexing?
Some great ideas there.

Very interesting tips and stuff I haven’t come across before! I particularly like the idea of using IM to advertise your site. The CoComments blog sounds intriguing as well. Have you seen any site performance issues with the CoComments plugin?

I’ve had no issues with the CoComments plugin yet.
I disabled it just temporarily as I am upgrading to WP 2.2

I never thought of having my comments used for a blog. It’s true that sometimes I get pretty in-depth with my commenting, tips, or advice in my comments, so why not make another blog that others can benefit from. Great advice. Thanks.
