Finally the Google PageRank for this relatively new blog domain has gone up from Zero to Four Yesterday.
John Chow dot Com is blog that typically shows how google pagerank fluctuates and even punishes the pagerank if you were NOT to organically build the links. But John must be knowing the best way out. :)

I have you Faved on Technorati which is how I saw this post. I have a newish blog that is stuck at PR0, I would LOVE any tips you have on increasing the PR. If I write a review of JohnChow.com, will he really link me back? You have a great blog with tons of excellent information!
@Elizabeth:
I just received a mail from John confirming this post will be part of his review-batch-post #61.
You have reasons to smile!. You have got a PR4 for your site. Check here:-

I know I’m really impatient, but I’ve been trying so hard to get my PR up to a 5 for almost two months! It would really improve the paid post work available to me. I’ll just keep plugging along at it :) Thanks again!
When a PR update happens, it doesn’t happen all at once – Google has many ‘datacenters’, and your new PR will ‘percolate’ between those datacentres over the next few days to a week.
You are correct Gecko. The toolbar update server got the PR information only today for me too.
Wow. U PR jump from zero to 4. Congrats.
Mine only up from 0 to 2. Hopefully, I can get to your level.
Any tips??
Thanks flasm. Truly, I did not care much about when I started this blog on this domain. I used to write under Blogspot, JRoller and Wordpress domains and thought I should keep everything in one place. That’s how VinodLive! started(Jan 2007). You can see most of my posts prior to Jan 2007 are imported from my previous blogs.
As for Tips.. I don’t have many. ;)
1) Write unique content frequently
2) Ping your site with Pingomatic after every post
3) Use Meta Tags within post and title(sometimes)
4) Use Google Analytics to track traffic
5) Create a robot.txt file and sitemap.xml file
6) Use Google WebMaster to keep track of your site index
7) Get a Theme which loads the content first, not the sidebars
8) Get your blog to use Dynamic Titles
9) Comment on widely read blogs with Your blog information in the name
10) Keep the categories in the homepage
11) Use trackbacks to reference blogs
12) Give multiple options for RSS Subscription.
13) Participate frequently in more generous blogger’s discussions. They may give you a link back. Never ask.
14) If you feel if you’ve got something really very Interesting – tip a Technorati Top-10 Blogger.
This is what I think I did with my blog till now. I can’t recollect anymore now!. .
Cheers.
Vinod. Thanks for sharing so many tips.. Very much appreciated. :)
I shall practice some of your tips. Cheers
Hey,
I noticed you participated in JohnChow.com’s MakeMoneyOnline reviews! I’m running a contest at my blog for $50 that was inspired by JC, check it out here:

Fantastic site johnchow.com, that sounds like a great resource I will have to check it out. Thanks for the sharing of OTHER sites besides your own, cool!
Hi, I see that you wrote a review for JohnChow in exchange for a link back. I’m offering the same thing for a review of my blog.
